Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates Shipping and Receiving services and administrative functions
  • Receives and processes lab supplies and materials
  • Follows procedures to ensure packages are received and handled appropriately
  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
  • Examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and may correspond with shipper / customer to rectify damages and shortages
  • Delivers critical cold packages to end users in a timely and efficient manner; supports end user notification of cold package receipt
  • Orders and delivers dry ice as needed to labs
  • Provides data for monthly metrics and discusses with staff to assess work volume and address operational concerns (volume packages received and shipped)
  • Prepares, packages and ships requested packages such as lab samples, IT equipment, and interoffice mail per DOT / IATA guidelines
  • Performs incoming / outgoing mail and package delivery tasks
  • Maintains employee bench and mailbox location lists; maintains mailboxes
  • Stocks and organizes general office supplies, warehouse, mailroom and copy area supplies
  • Prepares new hire office supply kits
  • Provides coverage when S/R Lead is absent
  • Manages small projects of limited scope and complexity within their functional area
  • May participate in process cost savings and improvement initiatives
  • Provides excellent customer service and support
  • Interfaces with R&D customers to ensure all expectations are being met
  • Maintains a positive relationship with all the members of the Facilities department and our site customers while promoting a positive team environment
  • Maintains compliance with corporate, safety, security and regulatory policies
  • Maintains all assigned Corporate, Facilities and EHS training as required

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year customer service and office related experience preferred
  • Basic Computer skills
  • Postage Meter, UPS, FedEx, DHL knowledge
  • Demonstrate the ability to be flexible and adapt to change in the work environment
  • Strong work ethic; diplomatic; team player and service-oriented; builds strong working relationships
  • Handle multiple projects at one time
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Attention to detail
  • Must be able to pass a background test
